Welcome to the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary website dedicated to the rehabilitation and re-homing of animals in need.

Please help the animals today with a donation to the Sanctuary. Your donation will be used locally to help animals in your community. We operate on the donations of kind people like you who love animals as much as we do. A donation to the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuaray really goes a long way.

Your support helps us to continue to help animals in need.

We believe that pet overpopulation and animal homelessness is a community responsibility. Can you please help us? FAS is a non-profit organization funded solely by private donations and fundraising activities. All of the money we raise goes directly to support the animals that we have while they await their new homes. Since we have a strict "no-kill" philosophy, some pets may stay with us for an extended time, always hoping for that special person to meet them and find their sweet natures irresistible.

Here are some of the Ways that You can Help:

Here is a list of some wonderful volunteer opportunities:

Animal Foster Care Program

Volunteers provide temporary foster care in their homes. Although we try to take excellent care of the animals at the Sanctuary, they are displaced pets and usually always benefit from a home environment.

Foster volunteers complete the volunteer questionnaire and agree to a home check. A foster parent will be responsible for the pet for a week to several months.

We need foster volunteers for puppies, kittens and adult animals. Knowledge of animal care and experience with animals is preferred. However, patience, compassion as well as responsibility and commitment to duty are probably all you will need to start. Our current foster "parents" will tell you that this job is one that is most rewarding

Special Events

Event volunteers assist by selling tickets, distributing flyers, and staffing special events. Some of our events include: Adopt-A-Thons, Chamber Mixers, the Avocado Festival, Hot Summer Nights, Dog Walk-A-Thon, etc. If you are interested in this opportunity, you should enjoy working and networking with people. Creativity and/or fundraising experience are a plus. Marketing skills are useful.

Donate food, old blankets and towels, or other needed supplies. (You may call us for pick up, if necessary. We hope to have a drop-off site very soon.)

Help organize a garage sale

Help organize a bake sale

Sew bandannas and cat toys, or other craft projects

Help input information into our computer data base or update policies, procedures, and other forms

Take pictures of our pets for adoption (digital camera if possible, but we can scan regular photographs into our computer for flyers or the web page.)

You may have a unique talent that you would like to share. Don't be shy. Contact us, please. We may already be looking for someone like you to help us help the animals.

Even if you do not have the time or the resources to participate at the Sanctuary, you can help the Sanctuary and the community as a whole by merely setting an example. If you have a pet, be responsible. Spay or neuter and keep current identification on your dog or cat at all times. Always keep your dog or cat properly confined or supervised. In addition to the basics—food, water, shelter, and veterinary care—give your pet lots of love and attention.

If you are looking for a pet, choose him or her from the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary, or another shelter which you may find on our "links" page.

Continue to spread the word. Tell your friends, co-workers, church members, etc., about the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary. Promote animal safety and responsible pet ownership wherever you can. Support legislation to protect animals.

Be a Hero. Report animal cruelty and neglect as well as injured or stray animals. You may prevent suffering and even save a life.

Teach your children well. Instruct children in how to care for animals properly and how to treat them with kindness.

If you have any additional questions about volunteering, feel free to send us an e-mail at info@fallbrookanimalsanctuary.org , or contact us by phone (760) 685-3533 .
